@Maura Johnston: Yeah, I'm just trying to make it through two-chords songs without staring at the tablature, so I'm way sub-Wolk-ian in my skills.
Still, if you've got any songs that just use C and C7, I'm your man.

SAShepherd commented on Radiohead Vs. The Hold Steady: Whose Side Are You On?,
at 12:21 PM on Aug 18
@gregcoff: Yeah, that just about nails it.
@TheRunningboard7: Agree with the first paragraph -- Kubler's statement would've made more sense (to me, anyway) 12 months ago, not now -- In Rainbows was the first Radiohead album I've fully enjoyed since OK Computer.
I'd still rather listen to the Hold Steady, but evidently I'm in the minority here...

SAShepherd commented on Which Alt-Rock Classics Do We Hate Most?,
at 12:11 PM on Aug 14
I don't think "Under the Bridge" qualifies as "classic," but I do think it qualifies as "suck."
As for a somewhat more critically-appreciated song, I've never understood the plaudits for the Pixies' "Where Is My Mind?" So many other, better songs in their career, why does that plodding track get all the kudos?

@Michaelangelo Matos: I'd disagree and say Raspberry Chocolate Chip was better, but that's only because I ordered it every time I went and never tried anything else.

SAShepherd commented on The Newest Innovation In Kids' Compilations: "No Annoying Cover Songs!", at 4:10 PM on Aug 13
@Michaelangelo Matos: Hey, I'm just waiting until Idolator realizes that it needs to stop worrying about the 13-year-olds and start worrying about the 3-year-olds.
But I'm staying away from the Jonas Brothers story, for obvious reasons.
